ECCC Pre-Trial Chamber Sets Dates for Case 003 Appeals

ECCC appoints Brenda Hollis new International Co-Prosecutor

The Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia appoints Ms. Brenda J. Hollis International Co-Prosecutor. Ms. Hollis replaces Mr. Nicholas Koumjian. Ms. Hollis has previously held prosecutorial roles in the Special Court for Sierra Leone and the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. Via ECCC

ECCC: New International Civil Party Lead Co-Lawyer Appointed

A new international Civil Party Lead Co-Lawyer has been appointed at the ECCC. Ms. Megan Hirst of Australia replaces Ms. Marie Guiraud of France, who resigned earlier this summer. ECCC: Nuon Chea dies

Nuon Chea, serving a life sentence for crimes against humanity and genocide, passes away while hospitalized in Phnom Penh. Chea was sentenced in Case 002/01 for crimes against humanity in August of 2014. He, along with Khieu Samphan, was also convicted of genocide in Case 002/02 on November 23rd, 2018.
